Accountant

Description: *This position will be located in Bloomington, IL until Summer 2011, when it will move to Charlotte, North Carolina. There will be no relocation or temporary living assistance while this position is in Bloomington, IL. A comprehensive relocation assistance package will be available to the selected candidate, in the Summer of 2011, for the move to Charlotte, North Carolina.* This individual will be responsible for administering the dealer advertising process. Specifically, he/she will work with the sales team to coordinate, summarize, and analyze the outstanding cooperative advertising and pricing allowance commitments made with our trade partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for working with the National Account and Field Sales teams to coordinate the monthly checkbook process of recording outstanding cooperative advertising and pricing allowance commitments
  • Summarizing the outstanding commitments and determining the corresponding general ledger entries that must be made to properly record the liabilities
  • Analyzing the checkbook submissions to identify and resolve any discrepancies from prior period reporting
  • Reviewing the monthly commitments with the Sales Team and Senior Management to ensure proper reporting is taking place
  • Preparing and inputting various monthly journal entry vouchers as part of the month-end closing process
  • Working with Accounts Receivable and the Sales team regarding the status of outstanding and/or disputed deductions including, but not limited to processing credit notes, claim forms, etc.
  • Creation and distribution of various reports for Management to review monthly results
  • Coordination and leading quarterly reviews to discuss outstanding commitments in detail prior to quarter and year-end close
  • Interacting with internal and/or external auditors during routine audit and/or Sarbanes-Oxley compliance engagements
  • Reconciling various balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

  

Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA is a plus
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • JD Edwards knowledge is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good organization and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and interact with various functional areas
  • Desire to learn and be exposed to various Accounting issues and areas
  • Ability to lead small groups in informal meetings

 

 

OPERATIONS CONTROLLER - NAM

Description: The North American Operations team has identified the need for a dedicated and focused resource in the business analysis activities for product supply, including manufacturing, purchasing and OEM sourcing. This new position will have an important role in supporting the regional head of operations in anaylyzing the business results as well as supporting the global operations controller and the C.O.O. with anylysis related to manufacturing and sourcing key ratios such as Overhead cost, product cost, cost of logistics, cost allocations, capital expenditures, factory variances, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consolidate monthly manufacturing, OEM sourcing and direct material reporting
  • Coordinate product cost development
  • Lead and coordinate operational reviews within the region and with the global team
  • Manage the budget and quarterly budget update (BQ) process with the regional operations team
  • Participate in financial planning, including business plan preparation and regular business forecasts
  • Manage all regular business reporting for the regional operations team
  • Perform financial analysis and modeling support for the factory
  • Cost analysis and planning
  • Analyze and report on all operational data including KPI's, direct and indirect costs, etc.
  • Support operational decisions by establishing processes which ensure that all decisions are made based on a total optimum cost analysis
  • Analyze WIP inventory and initiate corrective actions to improve working capital and inventory turns
  • Support logistics management by identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
  • Some travel is involved

  

Experience Requirements

  • 4 year degree in Accounting, Finance, Ecomomics, or related area
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis and strategic planning
  • Experience in manufacturing accounting, including standard costs, is required
  • MS Office user, with advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint
